Vuelta 2025 Favourites stage 18: Pushing with pure ITT power

The course is very straightforward. It’s a little technical at the start, but afterwards the specialists can really put their power to good use on the flat route.

Of the riders in the spotlight, Ganna and Hoole have been the standout time trialists this season. The two-time world champion Ganna took both the Tirreno-Adriatico time trial and the Italian national title, while Hoole won a Giro time trial as well as the Dutch national championship. Armirail also claimed his national crown.

Almeida triumphed in the (climbing) time trial at the Tour of Switzerland, and Vingegaard dominated the chrono at the Tour of Algarve.

The other contenders named have yet to register a time trial victory this season.
