Edition 89 of the Tour de Suisse ends two weeks before the Tour de France starts. The race kicks into gear on Sunday 14 June. Along with the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the Tour de Suisse is seen as a last big test before the July showdown. The race typically takes in a mix of time trials, hilly stages, and a number of days of action in the high mountains.
João Almeida won the previous edition of the Tour de Suisse, highlighting his strong performance with three stage wins. Kévin Vauquelin and Oscar Onley joined the Portuguese rider on the final podium.
