Tour de France 2026: Route and stages

Tadej Pogacar won the 113th edition of the Tour de France ahead of Remco Evenepoel and Isaac del Toro. The Slovenian underlined his dominance with five stage wins, while Tim Merlier sprinted to three victories. Mathieu van der Poel, Remco Evenepoel and Richard Carapaz took two stages and the other stage wins were shared among different riders. The race started in Barcelona on Saturday, 4 July 2026, and finished in Paris on Sunday, 26 July.

Paris - Paris

Sunday 26 July - At 88.7 kilometres, the final stage of the Tour starts and finishes on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Just like last year, the Côte de la Butte Montmartre once again features in the finale. This time, the cobbled climb of 1.1 kilometres at 5.9% comes 10.3 kilometres from the finish line.

Bourg d'Oissans - Alpe d'Huez

Saturday, 25 July - The final mountain stage of the Tour de France is a colossus, packing 5,450 metres of elevation gain. Over 170.9 kilometres, the riders take on the Col de la Croix de Fer, Col du Télégraphe, Col du Galibier and Col de Sarenne before finishing in Alpe d’Huez.

Gap - Alpe d’Huez

Friday, 24 July - Stage 19 of Le Tour takes the riders 128 kilometres from Gap to Alpe d’Huez. The iconic finish climb boasts 21 hairpins, spans 13.8 kilometres, and climbs at an average gradient of 8.1%.

Voiron - Orcières-Merlette

Thursday, 23 July - Stage 18 of the Tour de France takes the race into the Alps. It's the first of three alpine stages, with 3,900 metres of elevation gain across 185.2 kilometres. The race finishes in the ski resort of Orcières-Merlette after a 7.1-kilometre ascent at an average gradient of 6.7%.

Wednesday, 22 July - The Tour de France’s 17th stage is billed by ASO as a flat stage over 174.7 kilometres. Flat is a matter of perspective, as the route includes nearly 2,400 metres of climbing.
