The first former winner to confirm his participation was Jai Hindley, who took home the Trofeo Senza Fine in 2022. Route

The 2026 Giro d’Italia will get under way in Bulgaria. The Blockhaus provides an iconic summit finish, while the extremely steep Piani di Pezzè bring a brutal conclusion to stage 19. Stage 16, held entirely in Switzerland, also promises to be a blockbuster. There is only one time trial on the menu, but it is a long – and flat – one.
