Giro 2026: Withdrawals

The finale of the 1st stage was disrupted by a crash. Matteo Moschetti was the worst-affected rider and he withdrew from the Giro.

Last year, Mikel Landa crashed heavily in the finale of the 1st stage and had to abandon the race with a fractured vertebra. Geoffrey Bouchard also had to withdraw with multiple bone fractures.
That made them the first riders to abandon. In the end, 25 riders would not reach the finish in Rome. Among the withdrawals were Primoz Roglic, Juan Ayuso, Giulio Ciccone and Jai Hindley.
