Tour de France 2025: Route and stages

Tadej Pogacar won the 112th edition of the Tour de France, finishing ahead of Jonas Vingegaard and Florian Lipowitz. The Slovenian underlined his dominance with four stage victories, while Thymen Arensman, Tim Merlier and Jonathan Milan claimed two stages. The race started on Saturday 5 July 2025 in Lille and concluded on Sunday 27 July in Paris.

The Route

The 2025 Tour de France started on 5 July in Lille and finished on the 27th in Paris. Riders tackled 52,500 metres of elevation over a 3,302-kilometre route. The course featured five summit finishes – in Hautacam, Superbagnères, La Plagne, and on Mont Ventoux and Col de la Loze. There were two time trials, one of which ran steeply uphill.

Lille - Lille

Saturday, 5 July - The 1st stage of the 2025 Tour de France is made up of a loop to the west of Lille. The 184.9-kilometre route features an elevation gain of under 1,200 metres, which should appeal to the fast men.

Lauwin-Planque - Boulogne-sur-Mer

Sunday, 6 July – The 2nd stage of the Tour de France is a hilly race covering 209.1 kilometres. The riders set off from Lauwin-Planque and head for a punchy finale in Boulogne-sur-Mer. The yellow jersey could well be at stake.

Valenciennes - Dunkirk

Monday, 7 July – The 3rd stage of the Tour de France takes the riders across gently rolling terrain from Valenciennes to Dunkirk. The distance is 178.3 kilometres with 800 metres of elevation gain. So, that's perfect for a bunch sprint.

Amiens - Rouen

Tuesday, 8 July – At 174.2 kilometres. the 4th stage of the Tour de France travels on undulating terrain from Amiens to Rouen. Both places have a bit of a history when it comes to sprinting. But this time, the finish around Rouen is set up in a way that’ll have the hill specialists licking their lips.
