The 60th edition of the Amstel Gold Race will be held on Sunday 19 April. With narrow roads, dozens of hills and constant twisting and turning the race opens a trilogy of three Ardennes Classics. Founded in 1966 the Amstel Gold Race is the only Classic in the Netherlands, while their neighbours in Belgium have plenty. (Slideshow route/profile)
Last year’s edition was a thriller. Tadej Pogacar had been riding solo at the front for dozens of kilometres when Remco Evenepoel and Mattias Skjelmose caught him with 8 kilometres to go. The Dane narrowly outsprinted the world champion on the line, while Evenepoel had to settle for third place.
