Laurens De Plus attacks just before the final climb. Jan Christen is one of the riders who goes with him. The young Swiss rider pushes on alone in the final kilometre. He takes the stage win and the leader's jersey, while his teammate João Almeida finishes second. Both Jonas Vingegaard and Primoz Roglic don't live up to the expectations.
