Tour de Suisse 2025 Route stage 7: Neuhausen am Rheinfall - Emmetten

Tour de Suisse 2025 Saturday, 21 June – At 207.3 kilometres, stage 7 is the longest of the Tour de Suisse. The riders traverse lumpy roads from Neuhausen am Rheinfall to Emmetten, where the finish line is located atop a 3.1-kilometre climb averaging 8.9%. The total elevation gain sums up to 3,190 metres.

Virtually the entire day, the route alternates between climbing and descending. Shortly after the start, the riders ascend at shallow gradients towards Truttikon. The route then continues oer rolling terrain, and after just under 30 kilometres, there’s a 3.8-kilometre climb at 4.2%, followed 10 kilometres later by a 1.2-kilometre ramp at 8.6%.

This pattern of ups and downs continues for the rest of the day.

After a nearly 20-kilometre false flat and a descent, the riders face another climb of 3.8 kilometres at 4.2%. A flat section of 20 kilometres then leads to a punchy 3-kilometre climb at 8.9%. That’s the first summit offering KOM points; all earlier ascents are uncategorised.

There’s no descent afterwards, but following a rolling section and a 3.1-kilometre climb at 5.2% that gradually flattens out, the riders reach Rothenthurm. This is the highest point of the day, at 929 metres above sea level.

Passing through Rothenthurm, the riders still have 78 kilometres to go. This section begins with a 15-kilometre descent, followed by around 40 kilometres of flat terrain before tackling the Bürgenstock: 5.5 kilometres of climbing at an average gradient of 7.8%. Once over the top, 17.4 kilometres remain. The first 7.2 kilometres drop downhill, before a similar stretch on the flat leads to the base of the final climb: 3.9 kilometres at 8.3%.

Between kilometre 124 and 125 – the designated Tissot kilometre – riders can contest two sprints worth 3, 2 and 1 bonus seconds each. At the finish, 10, 6 and 4 bonus seconds are up for grabs.
