Race report
Jasper De Buyst, Nans Peters, Max Walker and Quinn Simmons are the first attackers. The peloton keeps chasing, and eventually the group goes clear – but with Brent Van Moer, Emiel Verstrynge and Samuele Battistella replacing De Buyst. The six work together to carve out a lead of over 2 minutes

In the final 40 kilometres, the breakaway is down to Battistella, Simmons, Van Moer and Verstrynge. The peloton has already closed the gap to just over a minute.

On the Knolhusen climb, with just over 20 kilometres remaining, Simmons drops his breakaway companions. He reaches the top of the final categorised climb with a 30-second lead over the peloton. Just over 10 kilometres remain at that point.

Neilson Powless opens the chase on the flat section that follows, but he's unable to bridge across. Nor can Felix Gall in the closing stages, as the American champion powers to a remarkable solo triumph.

João Almeida comfortably outsprints Oscar Onley for second place, while Romain Grégoire finishes fourth to stay in the overall race lead.
