Race report
Silvan Dillier, Mauro Schmid and Jonas Rutsch attack early on. They open up a 2 minutes lead.
On the Guggisberg climb, Dillier can no longer follow the pace, and in the Tissot kilometre, race leader Romain Grégoire picks up 1 bonus second. Rutsch is dropped from the breakaway on the climb to Rechthalten, with the peloton already breathing down Schmid’s neck.
With 14 kilometres remaining, the peloton is back together.
Inside the final 3 kilometres, Jan Christen launches a blistering attack. When he is reeled in, Quinn Simmons goes, before Lewis Askey bridges across with Vincenzo Albanese and Fabio Christen on his wheel. Behind them, the peloton opens up the sprint, and Simmons does the same from the front, effectively leading out Albanese, who finishes the job with gusto.
Grégoire finishes in the peloton and extends his lead thanks to the intermediate sprint.
