Tour de Suisse 2025 Route stage 2: Aarau – Schwarzsee

Tour de Suisse 2025 Monday, 16 June – Stage 2 of the Tour de Suisse takes the riders from Aarau to Schwarzsee on a route covering 177 kilometres and 2,704 metres of climbing. The stage finishes on a 4.9-kilometre uphill drag with an average gradient of 3.3%.

The first 100 kilometres are flat to gently rolling, which implies most of the climbing is packed into the second half of the stage. The uphill action begins with the ascent to Riggisberg: 4.5 kilometres long and averaging 5%.

There’s no descent immediately afterwards; instead, the route continues across undulating terrain to the base of the next climb, which leads for 5.2 kilometres at 4.5% up to Guggisberg. The riders stay at altitude for a few kilometres before plunging into a steep descent, followed by a short but sharp 1.5-kilometre ramp at 7.5%.

From there, the road continues on a false flat towards Gilers, before kicking up again with a 1.7-kilometre climb at 6.1% to Rechthalten. Once in the village, there are 15 kilometres remaining – half of it flat, the rest a gradual rise to the finish line.

The last kilometre starts with a 500-metre rise, then descends slightly on a false flat, with the final 300 metres on level ground.

In the Tissot kilometre – between kilometre 146.8 and 147.9 – time bonuses of 3, 2 and 1 seconds are up for grabs twice, while 10, 6 and 4 seconds await the first three riders across the line
