Race report
Harry Sweeny, Mauro Schmid, Stefan Küng and former yellow jersey Romain Grégoire form the day's breakaway. They open up a 3-minute lead.

Ewen Costiou, Pello Bilbao and Matej Mohoric open the chase on the Hemberg climb. On the descent, they close to within a minute and a half of the breakaway, but ultimately fall short of making the junction.

With 45 kilometres remaining, Grégoire is forced to drop from the front group. At that point, the peloton is trailing by a minute and a half.

Sweeny, Schmid and Küng keep the peloton at bay with seamless cooperation, but it's not enough, and they’re caught just before the flamme rouge. Danny van Poppel then delivers a textbook lead-out to launch Jordi Meeus to triumph.

Kévin Vauquelin finishes safely in the bunch to retain his overall lead.
