Race report
As always, there’s no real action at the start of the final stage. The only thing of importance early on is the announcement from the organisers: the climbs over the Côte de la Butte Montmartre at the end of the race won’t count. Due to slippery roads, times will be taken at the fourth passage on the finish line.

Magnus Cort launches the first attack upon entering Paris. The pace remains high and no one gains more than a 15-second advantage.

The peloton is all together as it tackles the Côte de la Butte Montmartre for the first time. Julian Alaphilippe and Arnaud De Lie ignite the first move, with Tadej Pogacar, Wout van Aert, Tobias Lund Andresen, Jenno Berckmoes and Davide Ballerini bridging up. More riders make the junction.

On the second ascent of the cobbled climb, the yellow jersey accelerates, and only Davide Ballerini, Wout van Aert, Matej Mohoric, Matteo Trentin, and Matteo Jorgenson are able to follow.

The bell rings for the final lap as the six leaders hold a 30-second lead over the first chasers.

Van Aert drops each and everyone on the final ascent of the Côte de la Butte Montmartre, and powers to triumph on the Champs-Élysées. Tadej Pogcar comes home in fourth position and wins the Tour de France for the fourth time in his career.
