Vuelta Femenina 2025 Route stage 5: Golmayo - Lagunas de Neila
The first half of the route doesn’t offer much in the way of difficulty. The riders spend that entire stretch on the N-234, covering flat to gently rolling terrain. Only after leaving the main road at Hontoria del Pinar do the undulations become a bit more pronounced. The first climb is 3.1 kilometres at 4.2% (uncategorised), with the summit coming after 77 kilometres.
From there, the route heads to the intermediate sprint in Quintanar de la Sierra, before continuing on a false flat towards the base of the Alto de Rozavientos — a 4-kilometre drag with an average gradient of 8.1%.
After cresting the summit, the riders descend back to Quintanar de la Sierra, only to head straight back towards the same climb. This time, however, they turn right just before reaching the summit and continue uphill towards Las Lagunas de Neila.
These glacial lakes sit at an altitude of 1,875 metres. The final 3 kilometres ramp up brutally: 9.6%, 8.2%, and 11% in succession. The full ascent measures 6.8 kilometres at an average of 8.7%.
Time bonuses of 6, 4 and 2 seconds are available at the intermediate sprint, while 10, 6 and 4 seconds are on offer at the finish line.
