Race report
With the peloton still together after 35 kilometres, Lea Lin Teutenberg joins forces with Maike van der Duin, Julia Borgström, and Arianna Fidanza. The four open up a 3-minute gap.

Fidanza is the last rider to be caught, just before the first climb. Once over the top, the peloton has been whittled down to around fifteen riders. Many manage to recover on the descent, and then it’s Mareille Meijering who slips away in the run-up to the final climb.

Meijering gains nearly 1 minute, but the lead shrinks rapidly on the steeper sections, and she is caught with 3.6 kilometres to go.

Demi Vollering accelerates 700 metres later. Only Marlen Reusser manages to follow, but as the defending champion keeps grinding away stoically, the Swiss rider is eventually dropped.

Metre by metre, Vollering distances her rivals. She solos to the stage win, while Marlen Reusser and Anna van der Breggen battle in the background for second place in both the stage and the overall standings. They split the honours evenly: Reusser finishes second, 24 seconds behind Vollering, but falls just 1 second short of overtaking Van der Breggen for second place in the GC.
