Tour de France Femmes 2026: Le Court claims sensational victory, Reusser still in yellow

Race report
The peloton is still together on the Côte de Périgneux, where Puck Pieterse strengthens her grip on the mountains classification by taking maximum points at the summit. Loes Adegeest then ventures off the front, with Nikola Nosková and Katrine Aalerud joining her. On the Côte de la Prunerie, the day's second climb, Nosková collects 2 KOM points. The rider in second place in the mountains classification continues to rack up points. Nosková is first over the top again on the Côte d'Aurec.

After the Côte d'Aurec, the peloton eases off a bit and the breakaway's lead grows to more than 2 minutes before its falls below 1 minute on the plateau after the Côte de Praneuf.

Before the road turns downhill, Nosková is dropped by the other two riders at the front, after which the peloton puts an end to the breakaway on the Col de Lalouvesc. Once at the top, Pieterse resumes her quest for mountain points.

Inside the final 35 kilometres, Célia Gery breaks away, with Cédrine Kerbaol, Liane Lippert, Sarah Van Dam, Puck Pieterse and Elisa Longo Borghini joining her at the front.

The six leaders hit the Côte de Boucieu-le-Roi with a 30-second advantage over the heavily reduced peloton, and the gap is still the same at the top. Pieterse picks up the KOM points, while Riejanne Markus and Kim Le Court attack from the main group on the plateau beyond the climb. The pair catch up with the leaders before the road tilts downhill.

Le Court launches an attack with 4.3 kilometres remaining. She quickly opens up a decent gap, but Longo Borghini closes it down in a 1.5-minute chase. Markus then launches an attack of her own, and once again it is the Italian who does the hard work to bring her back.

Markus refuses to give up and accelerates again just before the flamme rouge. For a moment, the others hesitate and look at each other, but then Le Court starts the chase. With 600 metres remaining, she closes the gap, briefly catches her breath, and then opens her sprint from Markus's slipstream. Pieterse comes close, and Kerbaol surges forward just before the line, but the rider from Mauritius refuses to be denied and takes the victory.

The peloton finishes almost half a minute later. The top three in the GC — Marlen Reusser, Demi Vollering, Kasia Niewiadoma — remain unchanged, while Longo Borghini moves up to fourth place at the expense of Antonia Niedermaier.
