Tour de France Femmes 2026 Route stage 4: Gevrey-Chambertin - Dijon

Tuesday 4 August – The 4th stage of the Tour de France Femmes is a 21-kilometre individual time trial. Just before the halfway mark, the riders face a climb that rises for 1.8 kilometres at an average gradient of 6.9% on its steepest section.

For the first 7 kilometres, the riders head straight towards Dijon. The route is flat, and if they were to keep going straight, they would reach their destination another 7 kilometres later. But they are not going to get off that easily.

A lefthander in Marsannay-la-Côte takes the riders takes the riders onto a false-flat drag uphill. Gradually, the gradient increases until they reach the actual climb. This is the Lacets de Marsannay, officially a 1.8-kilometre climb averaging 6.9%, although it is perhaps better described as a 3-kilometre climb averaging 5.7%.

The route continues on rolling terrain for another 2 kilometres or so, before 6-kilometre descent takes the riders to Dijon. There are no bends to speak of in this section, allowing the riders to descend at breakneck speeds and make full use of gravity.

In the final 2 kilometres, a few bends appear, without the route becoming overly technical, before the finish line on the Cours General de Gaulle in the city centre.

The Tour Femmes did not feature a time trial last time around. Two years ago, Demi Vollering was the fastest on a short course in Rotterdam, while Marlen Reusser posted the fastest time in Pau three years ago. That route had quite a few similarities with the one from Gevrey-Chambertin to Dijon.

The only intermediate time check comes after 9.7 kilometres, on the Lacets de Marsannay.
