Tour of Valencia 2025 Route stage 4: Oropesa del Mar - Portell Morella
Saturday, 8 February – Stage 4 of the Tour of Valencia packs 3,600 metres of climbing into a 181.3-kilometre route. Interestingly, most of the climbing is crammed into the first 105 kilometres.
The race starts on the Mediterranean coast, and after a flat opening phase, the riders can ease into the climbing with a 9.1-kilometre ascent at an average gradient of 2.6%. Roughly 10 kilometres later, the Coll de la Bandereta – 11.8 kilometres at 3.8% – marks the first classified climb of the day.
The race’s main challenges come in a 45-kilometre stretch featuring the Coll de la Basa (4.5 km at 4.3%), Alto de Chodos (10.8 km at 5.2%), and Alto de Vistabella del Maestrat (6.2 km at 5.4%), before a non-classified uphill section of 8.2 kilometres at 3.7% concludes the climbing. From there, 55 kilometres remain. While the terrain isn’t completely flat, the gradients are much gentler. The final 27 kilometres are mostly downhill.
There’s still one last hurdle inside the final 10 kilometres – a 1.4-kilometre climb at 6.2% – before the first half of the final kilometre rises at roughly 6%.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint comes with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
