Tour of Valencia 2025 Route stage 5: Alfafar - Valencia
Sunday, 9 February - Sunday, 9 February – It would take something extraordinary for the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana not to end in a bunch sprint. The 103.9-kilometre route from Alfafar to Valencia features just 80 metres of elevation gain.
The last sprint finish in Valencia was won by Fabio Jakobsen three years ago. He had also claimed victory in the provincial capital back in 2020. Other final-day sprint winners in recent editions include Arnaud Démare (2021), Dylan Groenewegen (2019), Jürgen Roelandts (2018), and Bryan Coquard (2017).
The past two final stages also finished in Valencia but played out differently. Last year, Will Barta capped off a long solo effort, while two years ago, Rui Costa and Thymen Arensman slipped away from a group of GC contenders in the closing kilometres. Costa took the stage win and, in doing so, snatched the overall victory.
This time, the course is so flat that a sprint finish seems inevitable.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint comes with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
