Tour Down Under 2026 Route stage 2: Norwood - Uraidla
Uraidla hosted three Tour Down Under stage finishes before, with Javier Romo (2025) and Peter Sagan (2018, 2019) taking the flowers, but this year's race promises to be the hardest ever. This year’s race, however, promises to be the hardest ever. Three major climbs are on the menu, starting with a grind up Norton Summit before the riders hug the lowers part of Mount Lofty followed by a visit to a double ascent of Corkscrew Road.
The Norton Summit climb comes straight from the start. The 10 kilometres slog offers 436 metres of elevation, so it averages roughly 4%, although a 12.6% section adds a nasty sting. The riders then descend towards Stirling before looping back through the Adelaide Hills. There are no real ascents, but the terrain is far from flat.
The race intensifies as the riders approach Corkscrew Road at Montacute. The first passage comes just past the halfway mark, followed by a return visit with 13.6 kilometres remaining. The 2.3-kilometre climb averages 9.2% with the steepest stretch a quad-burning 24.4%.
The route continues uphill at moderate gradients for 7 kilometres before on rolling section gives way to the downhill. The riders navigate a right-hand turn in the last 500 metres before pushing uphill to the line on Greenhill Road.
The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
