Tour Down Under 2026 Route prologue: Adelaide

Tour Down Under 2026Tuesday 20 January - The Tour Down Under opens with a a flat and fast prologue in the streets of Adelaide. The route is 3.6 kilometres long.

The start podium stands on Wakefield Street and the finish is at Victoria Park. In the first kilometre the riders race down the dead-straight Wakefield Street before heading onto East Terrace and Pit Straight. They then enter the closing criterium in Victoria Park, all the time without meeting any elevation gain. The second half of the route features some corners, but speeds are still expected to be sky-high.

Three years ago, the Tour Down Under also opened with a prologue in Adelaide, although on a different course. Back then, Alberto Bettiol took the spoils ahead of Magnus Sheffield and Julius Johansen.

The first rider sets off at 18:00 and the last rider is expected to finish at 20:30 – both local times (ACDT, UTC +10:30).
