Race report
It takes until after the first bonus sprint — won by defending champion Jhonatan Narváez — for the breakaway to form. Martin Urianstad Bugge and Guillaume Martin initiate the move, while Enzo Paleni jumps across to the duo. Urianstad Bugge pick up the most KOM points on Menglers Hill, so he is the first king of the mountain.
Paleni is the last attacker to be reeled in just before the 5-kilometre mark, and then it's up to the sprinters.
Tobias Lund Andresen outsprints Matthew Brennan and Sam Welsford to take the race lead, 1 second ahead of Samuel Watson.
