Tour de Romandie 2025: Sprint triumph and GC lead for Brennan

Race report
Gerben Kuypers, Silvan Dillier and Ben Zwiehoff initiate the breakaway, and as Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier and Enzo Palini join the, the group opens up a gap of over 4 minutes.
On the Pol des Pontins, the gap drops below 3 minutes, and the breakaway starts to splinter. Zwiehoff crests the climb solo, but Kuypers regains contact on the descent. On the next climb, the Belgian is distanced once again, only to make it back after the summit.
The two are reeled in with 24 kilometres remaining.
In the ensuing sprint, Matthew Brennan powers to an emphatic victory. He launches his effort from the front and leaves the field trailing by several bike lengths. As a bonus, the young Brit takes over the leader’s jersey from Samuel Watson.
