Race report
Frank van den Broek, Alex Molenaar and Felix Engelhardt go clear in the opening kilometres and they build a lead of over 3 minutes. The gap falls to 25 seconds on the Côte de Begues. Molenaar wins the KOM sprint at the summit, while Van den Broek loses contact.

The remaing two pair cling to a slender lead over the peloton for dozens of kilometres, but their breakaway finally ends as they enter the Montjuïc circuit.

The peloton is gradually whittled down on the circuit, but no attacks are forthcoming. On the final ascent of the Côte du Château de Montjuïc, Mathieu van der Poel is also dropped, leaving only around 15 riders at the front over the summit.

After the climb, Mattias Skjelmose attacks, but Isaac del Toro reels him back in. And he does much more than that. Carrying remarkable speed through a corner, the Mexican opens a gap that no one can close. No one except his team leader, Tadej Pogacar. The Slovenian sits on Del Toro's wheel, keeping an eye on the riders behind to make sure nobody bridges across.

Del Toro claims his first Tour de France stage victory in only his second Tour stage, with Pogacar finishing second ahead of Remco Evenepoel and Jonas Vingegaard. The Dane retains the yellow jersey.
