Tour de France 2025 Favourites stage 5: The Remco Evenepoel Show?

There’s not much to say about the route. The roads are in good condition, wide, and completely flat. Perfect terrain for Evenepoel to make full use of his aerodynamic position, while a powerhouse rider like Van Aert can unleash his raw strength. Would have been a perfect course for Ganna as well, but the Italian champion was forced to abandon in stage 1.

Evenepoel has ridden three time trials this season – and won them all: at the Tour de Romandie, the Critérium du Dauphiné, and the Belgian National Championships. Van Aert has yet to win a time trial this year, while Vingegaard took victory in the Algarve Tour’s race against the clock.
