Volta a Catalunya 2023The 102nd edition of the Volta a Catalunya sets off on Monday 20 March from Sant Feliu de Guíxols to finish on Sunday the 26th on the renowned Montjuic city circuit in Barcelona. The route takes in a mix of summit finishes, hilly stages, and an occasional chance for the sprinters. After the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia, the Volta a Catalunya is the oldest race on the cycling calendar with the inaugural edition held in 1911. (Slideshow route/profile)

The 2023 edition of La Volta will see three summit finishes – in La Molina and Vallter, and on the brutal Mont Caro in Els Ports National Park: 8.4 kilometres at 9%.

Sergio Higuita is title holder. The Colombian won last year’s edition ahead of Richard Carapaz and João Almeida.
