Race report
The breakaway consists of three riders. Eddy Finé, Marco Murgano and Juan Pedro López open up a 3 minutes gap.
Inspired by strong winds the peloton speeds up in the early phases of the race and the gap goes down. Rickaert and Uhlig go after the three leaders to rejoin them.
The leaders are reeled in with 12 kilometres left to race before Tim Merlier sprints to a commanding victory at Abu Dhabi Breakwater – his third in six stages.
Jay Vine stays in the overall lead.
