UAE Tour 2024 Route stage 2: Al Hudayriyat ITT
Two sharp turns are basically the only places where the riders have to touch their brakes. The rest of the route is straight with some wide turns that allows one to hold high speeds. Moreover, the pavement is in excellent condition.
The only intermediate time check appears at kilometre 5.7.
In 2021, the UAE Tour's ITT also took place on Hudayriyat Island, although the route was not the same. Filippo Ganna took the spoils that day, outperforming Stefan Bissegger and Mikkel Bjerg. Bissegger tasted the sweetness of revenge the following year, as he won the ITT in Ajman ahead of Ganna and Tom Dumoulin.
The organisation opted for a TTT last year, which was won by Soudal-QuickStep of the eventual race winner Remco Evenepoel.
