UAE Tour 2024 Route stage 5: Al Aqah – Umm al Quwain

Friday 23 February - The UAE Tour travels in 182 kilometres from Al Aqah to Umm Al Quwain. The race, which crosses the peninsula from east to west, has gotten bunch sprint written all over it.

It will be a first on the UAE Tour for starting venue Al Aqah, while Umm al Quwain is slightly more experienced. Last year's 5th stage finished in the capital of the least populous emirate in the UAE, Umm Al Quwain. Dylan Groenewegen took the spoils ahead of Fernando Gaviria and Sam Bennett.

Departing from Al Aqah the riders penetrate the desert to reach Al Mihtirqah after the only uphill of the day. It's about 10 kilometres long and slopes at moderate gradients. The rest of the route travels on flat, wide and straight roads.

The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
