Tour of Britain 2025 Route + results stage 1: Woodbridge - Southwold
The route takes the riders through towns such as Wickham Market, Aldeburgh, Saxmundham, Halesworth and Beccles before finishing on North Parade in Southwold.
The Dutch sprinter Olav Kooij will be looking to emulate his achievement of two years ago, when he won four of the eight stages in the Tour of Britain. This year there are only six stages, with the first three screaming out for a bunch sprint before the terrain gets hillier on the last three days.
The opening stage in particular is a sprinter’s dream. There is just one categorised climb, Mill Hill, and its 'summit' comes some 60 kilometres from the finish.
