Race report
The breakaway riders are Patrick Konrad, Georg Zimmerman, and Fergus Browning. The Australian secures the mountain points along the way, while the other two claim the most bonus seconds during the intermediate sprints.

Well before the finish, the trio is reeled in by the peloton. Sam Welsford then sprints to his second consecutive stage victory, thanks in part to his lead-out man, Danny van Poppel. Not only does Van Poppel do an excellent job setting up Welsford, but he also disrupts the sprint of oncoming challengers like Tobias Lund Andresen and Phil Bauhaus.

Obviously, Welsford’s victory strengthens his lead in the general classification.
