Race report
The breakaway incudes Oliver Bleddyn, Michael Hepburn, Pascal Eenkhoorn, Ben Swift, Pablo Torres, and Juan Pedro López. By the time they climb Willunga Hill for the first time, the last two have already dropped off.

The others build up a lead of over 4 minutes, but as expected, it’s not enough. On the second ascent of Willunga Hill, Mauro Schmid and Chris Harper take oer. The two manage to gain a maximum gap of 30 seconds on the peloton, but their attempt ends with 5.5 kilometres to go.

Race leader Javier Romo attacks early on the final climb. Heading into the last kilometre, he still has a 6-second lead over the first chasers, Jhonatan Narváez, Oscar Onley, and Luke Plapp.

But it’s not enough. In the sprint, Finn Fisher-Black also joins the fray, but Narváez has everything perfectly under control. He opens up the sprint and crosses the line as the winner. As a bonus, he claims the leader’s jersey.
