Race report
Zac Marriage, Fergus Browning, and Bastien Trochon form the breakaway shortly after the start. After winning the first intermediate sprint, Trochon sits up and waits or the peloton after 108 kilometres. Jhonatan Narváez capitalises on this during the second intermediate sprint, grabbing the remaining bonus second, while the two Aussies are reeled in with 25 kilometres to go.
In the streets of Gumerache, Sam Welsford rounds off a strong lead-out by his teammates. The 19-year-old talent Matthew Brennan comes close but falls just short of snatching the victory from him.
