Tour de Suisse 2026 Route stage 5: Villars-sur-Ollon - Villars-sur-Ollon

Tour de Suisse 2026 Sunday 21 June – In the final stage of the Tour de Suisse, the riders complete a number of laps in the mountains around Villars-sur-Ollon. They climb the Col de la Croix twice in full and twice partially. Over the 150.7-kilometre route, they accumulate 4,226 metres of elevation gain.

Villars-sur-Ollon lies halfway up the Col de la Croix, and straight from the start the riders head towards the summit. That means an opening climb of 3.9 kilometres at an average gradient of 8.9%.

A 26.5-kilometre descent leads down to Aigle and shortly afterwards, in Ollon, it is time for the first full ascent of the Col de la Croix. From bottom to top, it measures 19.1 kilometres at an average gradient of 7.1%. The riders have already had a taste of the steepest section, which comes just below the summit.

After the descent back to Aigle, the same climb follows again, before it is once more downhill to Aigle and back up the Col de la Croix. On the final pass, however, the riders do not go all the way to the top, as Villars-sur-Ollon sits at a lower altitude. That makes the final climb 9.6 kilometres of ascending at an average of 8%.

A very similar stage featured in the Tour de Suisse two years ago. The difference was that the valley section around Aigle was slightly longer and the Col de la Croix was only tackled in full once. João Almeida and Adam Yates produced a UAE Emirates masterclass, coming to the line together. The following day, the Brit went on to claim overall victory.

The Tissot Kilometre offers bonus seconds of 3, 2 and 1 at two points, while the first thee riders across the finish line gain 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
