Tour de Suisse 2026: Pogacar caps overall success with third stage win

Race report
Louis Vervaeke, Bauke Mollema, Lenny Martinez, Mauro Schmid and Paul Double crest the Cold de la Croix with a small lead before Afonso Eulálio, Andrew August, Nairo Quintana, Finn-Fisher-Black, Mattia Gaffuri and Bart Lemmen track them down on the descent. Back down in the valley, the attackers move through Aigle with a 2-minute lead over the peloton, and for the remainder of the stage the gap fluctuates around that mark.

Approaching the final climb, Lemmen makes his move. Quintana and Martinez quickly join him, while Tadej Pogacar does not hesitate once the gradient kicks up. He attacks, sheds Richard Carapaz and heads after the leaders.

Martinez wastes little time as well, distancing his two companions. But behind him, Pogacar closes in metre by metre, and with 900 metres to the line he makes the catch before riding clear and soloing to the stage win.
