Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 Route stage 4: Norcia - Trasacco
Thursday, 13 March - The Tirreno-Adriatico's 4th stage is 190 kilometres long, with nearly 2,600 metres of elevation gain. After a mountainous start, the route flattens out almost entirely in the last 45 kilometres - almost, as there is a short ramp just before the last 5 kilometres.
The route climbs from the start. The Forca della Civita climb is 14.3 kilometres long with an average gradient of 4.1%. After a short descent, the road continues as a false flat towards Cittareale before a 30-kilometre downhill takes the riders towards Antrodoco.
Once the riders pass through Antrodoco, they face a climb of 7.5 kilometres at 4.9%, followed by another false flat stretch of 6 kilometres.
The longest and hardest climb of the day is the Valico la Crocetta. The climb stretches for 12.4 kilometres at an average gradient of 5.7%. The summit is part of a plateau where the riders stay for just over 5 kilometres before a short drop leads to another plateau, twice as long, before descending sharply into the mostly flat finale.
That finale isn’t entirely flat, though. A short, sharp ramp of 260 metres at 8.9% awaits the riders 2 kilometres from the line. Since the stage finishes with two local laps of 15.2 kilometres, they’ll have to tackle this ramp three times.
The first three riders across the finish line gain 10, 6, and 4 bonus seconds, while the intermediate sprint offers 3, 2, and 1 seconds.
