Tirreno-Adriatico 2025: Dversnes triumphs from breakaway, Ganna still leader

Race report
Dries De Bondt is up for it, and he attacks in the run-up to the first climb of the day. He is joined by Manuele Tarozzi, Xandro Meurisse, Paul Ourselin, Gal Glivar, Francisco Muñoz, and Fredrik Dversnes. The seven open up a 7-minute lead.
Muñoz and Meurisse are no longer with them as their companions tackle the final climb 1 minute earlier than the peloton. Dversnes distances the others on the steep slopes, while Ben Healy can’t follow the pace in the GC group.
The 27-year-old Norwegian still has a 15-second lead at the summit of the final climb, and as the chase doesn’t really take off, he is able to solo to the biggest victory of his career. A few seconds later, Mathieu van der Poel beats Roger Adrià in the sprint for second place.
Filippo Ganna retains the lead in the general classification.
