Race report
In the run-up to the only climb of the day, the gap has come down to one minute, inspiring teammates Davide Bais and Alessandro Tonelli to give chase. They catch the soloist, and at the summit, Bais takes the most mountain points.

The peloton reels in the attackers with 38 kilometres remaining, while Dylan Groenewegen crashes in the run-up to the finale and is forced to chase.

The Dutch champion manages to close the gap with some team mates, but does not play a role in the sprint. In fact, there is really only one rider taking the spotlights: Jonathan Milan. The Italian caps off a perfect lead-out by Lidl-Trek. Dutchman Maikel Zijlaard finishes in second, a few bike lengths behind.

Filippo Ganna keeps the lead in the general classification, 19 seconds ahead of Milan.
