Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 Route stage 2: Camaiore - Follonica

Tirreno-Adriatico 2025 Tuesday, 11 March - At 192 kilometres, the riders travel from Camaiore to Follonica in the 2nd stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico. Running parallel to the Tyrrhenian Sea in a southerly direction, the route is almost a replica of the 2nd stage from the last two editions.

Two years ago, Fernando Gaviria launched an early sprint but was overhauled by Fabio Jakobsen and Jasper Philipsen. The Dutchman claimed victory ahead of Philipsen, while Gaviria finished in third place.

Last year, Jasper Philipsen returned to settle unfinished business. He outpowered Tim Merlier and Axel Zingle at the line.

A similar outcome is expected this year, as the route is easy to control. There’s only one climb, which isn’t much of a challenge at 4.1 kilometres with an average gradient of 3.9%. Moreover, the climb is crested with over 60 kilometres to go. As in the previous edition, the race concludes with a local lap of 18.1 kilometres.

Follonica also hosted a Tirreno-Adriatico stage finish in 2018. That race came down to a bunch sprint as well with Marcel Kittel outpowering Peter Sagan and Giacomo Nizzolo.

The first three riders at the finish line receive 10, 6, and 4 bonus seconds, while 3, 2, and 1 seconds are up for grabs at the intermediate sprint.
