O Gran Camiño 2024 Route stage 3: Xinzo de Limia - Ribadavia
The route features four official climbs that are divided by large portions of flat to undulating terrain. The KOMs are Alto des Estivadas (4 kilometres at 4.6%), Alto de Alberguería (7 kilometres at 5.7%), O Castro de Beiro (5.3 kilometres at 4.5%) and Alto de Couso (4.4 kilometres at 5.9%), which are crested after 15, 60, 120 and 153 kilometres, respectively.
So, the Couso opens the finale with its peak 20 kilometres from the finish. The race continues in rolling fashion before a 7 kilometres downhill leads to the Castrelo de Miño water reservoir. A short and modest climb takes the riders passed the hydroelectric dam and into San Paio. There they turn left onto the straight and flat road to Ribadavia.
The finish is situated at the base of Ribadavia Castle, which is a ruined structure dating back to medieval times. The castle itself was erected in the 15th century on the previous church and tower of San Xés from 9th century.
