O Gran Camiño 2024: The Route
fotobureau Cor VosAs is to be expected in Asturias, O Gran Camiño serves a mountainous route. The race in the remote region in north-western Spain kicked into gear on Thursday and is set to finish on Sunday. Jonas Vingegaard is title holder.

The race sets off with an indivial time trial of 14.8 kilometres. The route features a modest climb and a false flat section, while the last 400 metres go up at 4%. But, all things considered, it's the flattest route in four days O Gran Camiño.
Stage 2 is something else entirely. The 151 kilometres long route takes in an elevation gain of 3,000 metres. Following a race with four KOMs and a multitude of unclassified hills the finish appears shortly after a 5 kilometres climb at 6.3%.
Adding up to 173.1 kilometres, the 3rd stage is the longest race of the week. It's a hilly endeavour that should inspire attackers to try their luck.
Stage 4 is the decisive last test of O Gran Camiño. The 162.2 kilometres long route takes in an elevation gain of 3,421 metres, while the climb to the line amounts to 7 kilometres and the average gradient sits at 8%.
