Giro 2023 Favourites stage 17: For fast men#4

Jonathan Milan - Giro 2023 Favourites stage 17: For fast men#4foto: Cor VosThe 17th stage is the race in line with the least elevation gain of the entire Giro d'Italia. Merely 300 metres on a 195 kilometres long route. Gentlemen sprinters... take your mark, get set, go! (Slideshow route/profile)

Unless the sprinters’ teams miscalculate. It wouldn’t be the first time in the last week of a Grand Tour. Last year, Dries De Bondt won stage 18 of the Giro 14 seconds ahead of the charging peloton, while Christophe Laporte won the 19th stage of the Tour de France with a late attack.

But, all things considered, the 17th stage should be an easy catch for the sprinters. The route is as flat as it gets, so it should not pose any problem to control the breakaway.
