Before the start of the Giro, the Colombian and the Dane both voiced an interest in winning the ciclamen jersey. And to do so, they have to reach Rome.

The last stage of the Giro d'Italia serves 500 vertical metres on a 126 kilometres route. So, that's flat. The last Giro visit to Rome ended in a Sam Bennett sprint fest. In 2018, the Irishman outgunned Elia Viviani and Jean-Pierre Drucker on the Via dei Fori Imperiali.

We will have another winner this time, that's for sure. Bennett does not ride the Giro.

No sprinter did win two stages in this Giro. Milan, Ackermann, Dainese - they all won one stage. The other two winners of a pure sprint stage - Pedersen and Groves - are not in the Giro anymore
