Race report
Enzo Leijnse, Jordan Labrosse and Pierre Thierry attack early on. They open up a lead, but the peloton keeps chasing. After 15 kilometres, the gap is still only 40 seconds. Bastien Tronchon then tries to bridge across, just as the lead of the three up front over the peloton finally starts to grow.

Some 10 kilometres later, Tronchon realises he’s stuck in no man's land and sits up to wait for the peloton.

The three attackers open up a maximum lead of 2 minutes. When that gap drops below 1 minute halfway through the stage, Benjamin Thomas and Thibault Guernalec bridge across.

The gap is back to just under 2 minutes as the riders hit the Col de Fontmartin. On the climb, Mathieu Burgaudeau, Mattéo Vercher and Tobias Foss try to catch up with the leaders - to no avail, and on the Col de Boubon, Alex Baudin and Gregor Mühlberger replace Burgaudeau and Vercher in the chase. This turns out to be another chasse patate.

Thierry lose contact on the Côte des Quatre Vents, while the peloton is 30 seconds minute in arrears at the summit.

Inside the final 2 kilometre, the peloton gobbles up the last attackers, and Jake Stewart powers to victory in the sprint. Remco Evenepoel retains the yellow jersey.
