Critérium du Dauphiné 2025 Route stage 2: Prémilhat - Issoire
This means that virtually all of the elevation gain is packed into the first 160 kilometres of the race. Four climbs stand out in the first half: the Côte de la Font Nanaud (3.4 kilometres at 4.6%), Côte de Saint Priest-des-Champs (1.3 kilometres at 5%), Côte des Rivauds (3.5 kilometres at 4.8%), and Côte de Saint Jacques d'Ambur (3 kilometres at 5.1%). Over rolling terrain, the riders reach the intermediate sprint in Olby halfway through the stage.
After the sprint, the road rises for 7 kilometres at around 3%, followed by a descent and a gradually climbing stretch leading to the day’s steepest ascent: the Côte du Château de Buron – 3.3 kilometres at 6.9%. After the KOM sprint, the road continues to climb briefly before descending towards the finishing circuit.
As mentioned, the circuit is 42.9 kilometres long. The roads are mostly flat to rolling, with one notable rise: the Côte de Nonette – 1.8 kilometres at 5.7%. The summit is reached 17.9 kilometres from the finish line.
The first three riders to cross the finish line receive time bonuses of 10, 6, and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprint offers 3, 2, and 1 second respectively.
