Race report
Paul Ourselin heads off on a solo adventure early on. He builds up a maximum lead of over 6 minutes.

When the gap drops to under a minute halfway through the race, Romain Combaud, Christopher Juul-Jensen and Victor Guernalec bridge across. Their maximum lead extends to one and a half minutes.

On the Côte du Château de Buron, Juul-Jensen and Guernalec drop their two companions, while Jonathan Milan is distanced by the peloton on the same climb.

The bunch catches Juul-Jensen and Guernalec with 45 kilometres remaining. Almost simultaneously, Milan regains contact.

Romain Bardet jumps clear from the peloton on the Côte de Nonette, but his effort comes to an end inside the final 10 kilometres.

Jonathan Milan proves unbeatable in the ensuing sprint. The Italian powers home after a textbook Lidl-Trek lead-out, finishing comfortably ahead of Fred Wright and Mathieu van der Poel. Milan takes the yellow jersey from Tadej Pogacar, though the two share the same time, while Van der Poel moves to within 2 seconds of the race lead.
