Vuelta 2026 Route stage 17: Dos Hermanas - Sevilla

Vuelta a España 2026 Wednesday 9 September - At 189 kilometres, the riders face just 900 metres of climbing between Dos Hermanas and Seville. So yes, stage 17 of the Vuelta a España is flat. Very flat.

The Vuelta also visited Seville two editions ago. It was the flattest stage of that race and, while most expected a showdown between Kaden Groves and Wout van Aert, it was Pavel Bittner who sprinted to victory.

It is hard to imagine anything other than another bunch sprint in Seville this time around. The riders roll out from Dos Hermanas ("Two Sisters"), a suburb that almost merges into its bigger neighbour. However, a long loop to the south and east ensures that nearly 190 kilometres are on the clock by the time they return to the city.

There are no climbs to speak of. The modest elevation gain comes from the countless kilometres of false-flat roads the riders negotiate throughout the day.

The finish line is located between María Luisa Park and the Guadalquivir River, with the final corner coming 800 metres from the line.
