Just like this year, the flattest stage of that edition also finished in Seville. To many people’s surprise, it was Pavel Bittner who took the win. The Czech, who was just 21 at the time, certainly won’t be repeating the feat, as he isn’t riding the Vuelta this year.

Who will succeed him? With four stage wins, Matthew Brennan has firmly established himself as the fastest man at La Vuelta.
