Race report
On the approach to the Alt de Sant Feliu de Codines, Koen Bouwman, Samuel Fernández, Merhawi Kudus and mountains classification leader Baptiste Veistroffer form the breakaway. The quartet opens a 2.30-minute lead. Veistroffer is the first to crest the summit, after which he and Bouwman are dropped. The other two are caught inside the final 20 kilometres.
At the intermediate sprint in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, Tom Pidcock takes 3 bonus seconds.
In Camprodon, Ethan Vernon launches a decisive sprint from the front to take the win. GC leader and two-time stage winner Dorian Godon finishes on his wheel, while Tom Pidcock comes across the line third. This moves the Brit up to second place, while the leader’s jersey remains on Godon’s shoulders.
